He is survived by: his parent Sarah Johnson (Cohen); his sons, North Haven and Senior Manufacturing Engineer; his wife Carol A. Johnson (Gaudino); and his children, Richard E. Johnson, Jr., Tiffany Johnson-Petrakov and Ashley M. Johnson-Goralnik.
