It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie Ann Burney of Hamden, Connecticut, who passed away on May 28, 2020, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Deacon Richard Heyward and Mabel Simmons Heyward; her husband David Burney Sr.; and her grandson David Burney III. She is survived by: her sons, Allen Heyward (Cynthia), David Burney Jr. (Lakeia) and Erving Burney; her siblings, Alfred Heyward, Alice Proctor, Mary Heyward, Dorothy Heyward and Telia Heyward; and her aunts, Ruby of Washington and Alberta Simmons. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
