He is survived by: his wife Emilia Serate; his children, Idamary Diaz (Wilfredo), Noemi Serate (Luis Vargas) and Jesus Manuel Serate (Melissa Alverez); his grandchildren, Kiara Padro, Thomas Serate, Wilfredo Diaz, Keyla Acevedo, Karina Diaz, Elijah Diaz, Albert Padro, Christopher Serate, Katerina Cuascut and Lucas Cuascut; and his siblings, Hilda Encarnacion, Ana Julia Pena (Israel), Reyes Serate, Modesto Serate and Jorge Serate (Luz Serate). He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
