With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gertrude Rieber of Monroe, Connecticut, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on February 5, 2022 at the age of 102. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Leonard Schaffer and Theresa Schaffer; her children, Theresa Vavrek (Stephen) and Robert Rieber (Gina); her granddaughters, Christina Sitterson (Brad), Jennifer Harding (Joe) and Jessica Vavrek (Brad); her great grandchildren, Noah, Autumn, Delilah, Amelia and Emma; and her husband Edmund Rieber.
