She was predeceased by: her parent Artur Fernandes; and her brothers, Jacinto Fernandes, Jose Fernandes and Manuel Fernandes. She is survived by: her spouse Americo Tavares; her parent Domingas Luisa DaSilva Fernandes; her children, Maria Magalhaes (Jack), Domingas Rebelo (Celestino) and Americo Tavares; her sister Balbina Nunes; and her sister-in-law Ludovina Tavares. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
