He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hamilton Proto; his children, Alfonse "Jay" Proto (Lynne), Richard Proto (Lillian), Robert Proto (Gina), Daniel Proto and Amanda Jones (Marvin); his grandchildren, Melinda Proto, Jay Freitas (Ryan), Isabella and Lenah Jones; and his brother Frank Proto.
