He was predeceased by: his parents, Lessie Clemons Smalls and Moe Smalls; his children, Benjie and Rochelle; his siblings, Lily, Roy, Wesley, Sue and Moe Jr.; and also Janie Lee Smalls.
He is survived by: his wife Josephine Smalls; his children, Alphonso, Edie, Martha, Leroy, Belinda, Carleen, Chris, Tyreese, J'Nia, Carly and Maxine; and his brother James. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
