He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Cobb-Atkinson and Estella Cobb-Atkinson; and his siblings, Emma Lee Meeks, Alice Manning, Minnie Lee Barnes, Esther High, Ada Atkinson-Harris, Clifton "Bill" Atkinson, Walter "Jay" Atkinson, Jr., William "Buck" Atkinson and Bobby Ray Atkinson.
He is survived by: his wife Blossie; his close friends, Kevin Spann and Blake; his children, James (Linda), Faye Mackey (Marvin) of Connecticut, Kaye Williams (Ronnie) of Connecticut, Renia Brooks (Ron) of Connecticut, Peggy of Connecticut and Jeanette McNeil (Derrick) of Castalia, NC.; his siblings, Fannie Powell of Wilson, NC, Annie Doris-Jones of Philadelphia, PA and Pastor George Thomas Atkinson (First) of Wilson, NC; and also Faye. He is also survived by 28 grand-children, 50 great grand-children.
