He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah Stancil and Rosanna Stancil; and his siblings, William Stancil, Milton Stancil, Jorden Stancil, Walter Lee Lynch and Ernestine Parker.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Clemintine Stancil (Estes); his children, Brenda Hammett (Stancil) and Curtis Stancil, Jr. (Lori); his granddaughter Vanessa Perkins Jones; his children, Larry Bess (Joyce), Alton Bess and Vanessa Perkins Jones; his grandchildren, John Hammett, Jr. (Kendra), Corey Hammett, Shaylen Stancil, Cymone Jones, Kayana Jones and Amber Jones; and his great grandchildren, Jamar Hammett, Jamel Hammett and John Hammett, III. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
