He was predeceased by: his wife Gladys Pérez Bonilla; his parents, Salvador Bonilla and Margara Díaz; his son Elias Bonilla; and his brothers, Santos, Israel, Natán and Samuel Bonilla.
He is survived by: his children, Celia Cordero (Samuel), Marilyn Torres (Luís) of Hamden, Norma Fernández of New Haven, Francisco Bonilla (Myrta) of North Branford, John Bonilla (Anita) of Cheshire, Josue Bonilla of New Haven and Samuel Bonilla (Zaida) of West Haven; and his siblings, Abigail Bonilla Díaz (Luís Moreno) of Santa Isabel, PR, Esther Bonilla Díaz, Elizabeth Bonilla Reyes of New Haven and Roberto Bonilla (Paula Gonzaga) of Santa Isabel. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
