It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mother Mamie Hopkins of New Haven, Connecticut, born in Winterville, North Carolina, who passed away on July 27, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Mabery and Mary Sue Mabery; her sisters, Doretha Payton, Annie Mae Mabery and Luella Galberth (Eugene Mabery); and her son David Eaton.

She is survived by: her husband Eddie Hopkins; her children, William Jefferson, Ernestine and Charles O'neal; her brother Arthur Lee Mabery; and her goddaughter Rose Brazzell. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, twelve great great-grandchildren.
