He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Batíz Velázquez; and his parents, Francisco Velázquez and Ines Velázquez Bello. He is survived by: his children, Evelyn Velázquez, Inez Velázquez (Edgar Jiménez) of New Haven, Betzaida Nieves (Jorge) of Waterbury, José R. Velázquez, Ervin Velázquez of New Haven, Hector L. Velázquez (Meche) of Norwich, Bernabe (Ivelisse) of East Haven and Luís Tony Velázquez of West Haven; and his siblings, Geralda "Yaya" Arroyo (José) of Queens, NY, Mayda Velázquez (Jon Pender) of San Juan, PR, Ruben, Efren Velázquez of Ponce, PR, Hector "Tito" Velázquez of Lancaster, PA and Heriberto Velázquez (Teresa) of New Haven. He is also survived by thirty one grandchildren, thirty nine great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.
