She was predeceased by : her parents, John Yates and Yvonne Yates (McGilchrist); and her husband Lancelot Hodge. She is survived by : her family, Christina Chappelle (Kelby) and Tanya Collins (Aaron); her grandchildren, Jalen Chappelle, Alexa Collins and Jada Collins; and her siblings, Donna Duzant, Marie, John "Butchie" Yates and Edward Yates.
