He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Varas and Agnes Varas (Silva). He is survived by: his wife Peggy Varas (Hewitt); his children, William Varas (Abbe) of Norwich, Michael Varas (Nicole) of North Stonington, Stephen Varas of Pawcatuck and Janet Clark (William) of Charlestown, RI; his siblings, Robert Varas (Johanna) and Elaine Gingerella (Robert) of Pawcatuck; and his grandchildren, Tad, Jason, Kevin, Joshua, Justin, Jessica, Meaghan, Jamie, Madison, William, Hunter and Cassidy. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
