He was predeceased by: his sister Mary Ann Goldman; and his nephew Bailey Stanhope. He is survived by: his parents, Arden Platner and Anne Platner of Simsbury; his pet Duncan; his granddaughter Quinn; his wife Fran of North Granby; his daughter Melissa of New Hartford; his nieces and nephews, Jessie, Evangeline, Ricky, Cheryl Dean, Wally Dean and Scott Stanhope; and also Derrick (Laura) of Simsbury.
