She was predeceased by: her parents, Mildred Schaly and Harald Schaly. She is survived by: her daughters, Marian Schaly Cangelosi of Nashville, TN, Elizabeth Schaly Beavers (Kevin) of Lorena, TX, Sylvia Schaly Manner (David) of Indianapolis, IN and Vincenzo Cangelosi of Nashville, TN; her siblings, David Schaly (Maria) of Somers, NY and Cassandra Schaly (Raymundo Dantas) of Salvador; her grandchildren, Adrianno Cangelosi (Karen) of Nashville, TN, Alexis Beavers, Christopher Beavers of Lorena, TX, Matthew, Gabriella and Kyle Manner of Indianapolis, IN; her nieces, JoAnn Schaly of Garopaba, Marian Grace Schaly of Stamford, CT and Victoria Schaly of New York, NY; and her aunts, Jean Hopwood Webber of Indianapolis, Francis Hopwood Day (Leopol) of Overland Park, KS, Shirley Hopwood Walling (Jack) of Kearney, MO and Virginia Hopwood Elder of Olathe, KS. She is also survived by many friends that she loved and that loved her and many who considered her like a mom.

“I had Dorothy on my mind recently and wanted to find her - we lost touch a few years ago. I'm so sorry to see that I missed her and didn't know of her passing until now. Dorothy was a good friend & wonderful colleague & teacher. Dorothy and her sweet mom attended my daughter's baby dedication in the late 90s in Nashville and I recently came across their precious cards from that event.
