He was predeceased by: his spouse Mae Emily Rivera (Meeker); his parent Vincente Rivera; and his children, James Rivera, Donna Rivera and Carmen Ostrander.
He is survived by: his parent Carmen Rivera (Colón); his grandsons, Joshua S. Rivera (Lauren) of Enfield, Christian J. Ostrander and Tyler J. Ostrander; his brother Victor Rivera (Priscilla) of Torrington; and his great grandchildren, Mia Ostrander, Norah Rivera and Bennett Rivera. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or the American Kidney Fund.
