She was predeceased by: her husband William Proto Sr.; her parents, Clifton Barton and Anna Barton (Kamp); and her siblings, Clifton E. Barton, Marjorie Barton, Janet Reinicke and Anna Novak.
She is survived by: her children, Kathleen Sutherland (George Sutherland) of North Carolina and William J. Proto Jr. of Wallingford. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
