He is survived by: his siblings, Leo Demers of Waterbury, George Demers of Danielson, John Demers of South Carolina, Ida Schmidt of Preston, Shirley LeMay of Uncasville and Angel Laporta of Florida; his daughter Adriene Lynn Bates of Savannah; and his grandchildren, Michael Bates and Danyelle Bates. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
