She was predeceased by : her parents, Etelvina Rosa DeJesus and Manuel Jorge DaSilva; and her spouse Vasco Tavares DeJesus. She is survived by : her daughters, Sara Portal (Jose Portal) of West Hartford and Sidonia Holley (Scott Holley) of North Granby; her grandchildren, Sabrina Portal, Anthony Portal, Vanessa Holley and Adrianna Holley; and her siblings, Alice Tavares of New Britain and Joao DaSilva of Valemaior. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be directed to The American Cancer Society or Protectors of Animals.
