He is survived by : his parents, Noreen Farrell Parris and John V. Sponza; his stepfather Ronald Parris; his sisters, Sharon Figi (Rich Wambsgans) and Kim Sponza (Judee Beardsley); his nephews, Jake and Lucas Figi; his stepsiblings, Melissa Makris, Ari Clinton, Linda Farina and Bob Parris; his cousins, Maureen, Danny, Patti and Katie O'Connor (Blagden); and his pets, Bear, Hoops, Spooky and Comet.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name may be made to St. Philip Church or Animals in Distress of Wilton.
