She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon Quarles and Phylis Quarles; and her siblings, Baby Quarles, Barbara Jenkins, Felicia Ned, Al Quarles, LeRoy and Susie Gardner.
She is survived by: her daughters, Africana Thornton of Richmond, VA and Byronica Quarles; her grandchildren, Razyia of Washington and Joshua Simmons of Charleston, SC; her siblings, Dr. Sandra Green of Los Angeles, CA, Lillian Jones of Charleston, SC, Leola Smith (District Heights, MD), Leon and Robert Quarles (Ernestine) of Charleston, SC; and her pets, Peaches Buggs (Washington, DC), Lil Dee of Los Angeles, CA, Phyllis and Caprice Andrade. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
