He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis H. Magruder Jr. and Lillie E. Magruder; his brother Richard; and his sons, Vondell Johnson and Jorg Magruder Sr..

He is survived by: his wife Ingeborg Magruder; his children, Helge Magruder, Alex Magruder, Andre Magruder and Maria Magruder; and his grandchildren, Donnell Johnson, Len Rhem, Jorg Magruder, Joshua Lazenby, Kevin Magruder, Alexandra Magruder, Ashon Magruder and Ricardo Sutton. He is also survived by great grand children.
