He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Jakes and Azalee Jakes; and his children, Phyllis Jakes, Doreen Jones and Maurice Richardson (Moe).
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Lakeisha, Sonia, Ebony, Dominique and Arthur; his great grandchildren, Myeisha, Jay, Micah and Zeni; his niece Kim Thompson; his sisters, Betty Fowler, Linda Keitt and Michelle McKung; and also Shirley Jackson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
