“A note to the family of Phil Pillsbury: I will never forget the time I met and became acquainted with Phil Pillsbury. He was the Branch PAO in Zaire, and I was a USIA officer in the Near East Bureau in USIA Washington, when USIA sent me as an inspector to Zaire. I was the one on the inspection team that visited Phil in his remote post, many miles from Kinshasa. I would be happy to send you a note of my memory of Phil if you write me at [email protected].
