He was predeceased by: his parents, Favor Walter Goodwine and Flossie Phroneberger; his wife Ruth Evelyn Cheek; his brothers, Edgar, Richard, Walter and Layton; his granddaughter Wendy Marie; and his sisters-in-law, Arlene, Vivian, Ida, Amelia, Clara and Bertha Louise.
He is survived by: his children, Alton Cornell (late Sarah), Arlala Karria Sheppard (Tony) and Stuart Kerwin (Joyce); his grandchildren, Keith, Steve, Andre, Carletta and Thomas; and his friends, Benjamin J. Cheek Jr., Diane Steed (Greg), Doretta Davis, Roderick Brown, Alphonzo Cheek (Equator), Tyrone Whitby, Paul Thompson, Norman Weber, Harry McKnight, Boris Cheek (Michelle), Jonathan Fulton, Deacon Orpheus Williams, Henry Hightower, Laverne Hill (John), Leroy Spencer (Audrey), Kenny and Deborah Rice. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
