It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vernis Aveline Nelson of Washington, District of Columbia, born in Kenmare, North Dakota, who passed away on November 12, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Rodin and Alma Rodin (Ekstrom); her husband Clifford Nelson; and her grandson Mathew Nelson. She is survived by: her children, Ronald Nelson (Susan) of Fergus Falls, MN, Donovan Nelson (Marla) of Donnybrook, ND, Roxann Jepsen (Rodley), Jacqueline Chumley (Lorrie) of Bismarck, ND and Peggy Nelson of Minot, ND; and her grandchildren, Erin Motschenbacher (Pat), Tony Nelson (Alissa), Nathaniel Nelson (Chasity), Jennifer Lindsey (Austin), Nicholas Nelson (Abby), Garrett Jepsen, Kalene Jepsen, Marie Blegen (Josh), Amanda Williams (Jordon), Matthew Chumley (Kinsey), Hannah Chumley and Emma Chumley.
Celebrating the Life of Vernis: Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, A Private Family Funeral by invitation will be held Monday, November 16, 2020, at 10:30 a. m. at Faith Baptist Church in Kenmare.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Child Evangelism and FaHoCha Bible Conference.
