He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lancaster and Bessie Lancaster; and his siblings, Clara Lancaster, Bessie Guice, Josephine Johnson, Therman Lancaster, James Lancaster and Mildred Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Juanita; his close friends, Thomas "Bat" Battle, Bob White and Frank Jackson; and his godsons, Damon Alston and Mensah Battle.
