He was predeceased by : his parents, James C. Slacum, Sr. and Grace P. Slacum (Hart); his former life partner Hazel Doris Slacum (Ellis); his siblings, Leona Scotton, Laura Mae McGuire, William Slacum and James Slacum; and his son Paul Slacum.

He is survived by : his wife Sharon Elizabeth Slacum (Allen); his children, Christine L. Hummel of Dover, Lloyd F. Slacum, Jr. (Lois) of Wilmington and Philip L. Slacum of Newark; and his stepdaughters, Grace E. Tinley, Patricia L. Tripp, Mary E. Sweet-Farrow, Nancy L. Parker and Amanda A. Anderson. He is also survived by 6 step grandsons; 3 step great granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
