He was predeceased by: his daughter Joni Johnson. He is survived by: his siblings, Una, Rita, Lynda, Leona, Viola, Kenneth, Raymond Johnson and Alan Johnson; and his daughters, Dawn Leacock, Heather Elzey and Heidi Polito.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home of Michael J Ambruso (1175 S State St, Dover, DE 19901). A burial will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Barratt's Chapel Cemetery (6486 Bay Rd, Frederica, DE 19946).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Alfred's memory to the Air Mobility Command (AMC) Museum Foundation, the Delaware Agricultural Museum or Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company (Station 55).
