He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Edward Slater Sr. and Mary Ann Slater (Wood); his sister Deborah Ann Slater; and his nephew David Slater. He is survived by: his son Derrick Slater (Zany); his granddaughter Zoey Slater; and his siblings, Wayne Slater (Lisa), George Slater (Anne) and Karen Gallo (Emil). He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.
