He was predeceased by : his parents, George Sonntag and Catherine Sonntag. He is survived by : his wife Maria Cilwik; his children, Rick (Fran) and Kristin (Scott); his grandchildren, Victoria, Amanda, Matthew and Andrew; and his sister Patricia Moraytis.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be made to the Cancer Cachexia Society.
