She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerald Griest and Vera Griest (Zabenko); and her husband Leon Whitney. She is survived by: her sons, Michael (Jessica), Nicholas (Tiffany) and Christopher (Kimberly); her grandchildren, Juliette, Madison, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Charlotte, Jake, Everly and Olivia; and her siblings, David Griest, Bill Griest and Karen Blum.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Doherty Funeral Home - Pike Creek (3200 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Doherty Funeral Home (3200 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808). A burial will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at the Gracelawn Memorial Park (2220 N Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720).
