He was loved and cherished by many people including : his sons, Boy Scout and Little League; his wife Elizabeth (Kuchta); his children, Philip of Voorheesville, NY, Alexandra of Carlisle, PA and Vladimir of Wilmington, DE; his parents, John Melnik and Anastasia Melnik; and his siblings, Anna, John, Mary, Anthony, Harry and Sophia.

Memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church or Delaware Hospice (16 Polly Drummond Center, 2nd Floor, Newark, DE 19711), which provided essential support in the last leg of Peter's earthly journey.
