She was predeceased by: her parents, Nathaniel Williams and Mary Williams (Pinkett); and her husband Allen H. Brooks. She is survived by: her children, Michael K. Brooks, Paul G. Brooks and Leslie E. Brooks Harris; her grandchildren, Danielle Geiger, Steven Brooks and Thalia Harris; and her sisters, Essie Cyriaque and Mary Collins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
