He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Burks; his son Preston Burks, Jr.; and his sister Francis Milner. He is survived by: his child Carolyn Presnell (Eric); his siblings, Benjamin Burks, William Burks, Loraine Gunter of Virginia and Doris Lindsay of Virginia; his grandchildren, Will Burks, LeiAnna Burks, Lee Ann Lazenby, Anthony Lazenby, Lauren Mathers, Aaron Presnell, Evan Presnell and Nathan Presnell; and his son Daniel Burks.
