He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert E. Sr. Matthews and Frances Matthews; and his siblings, Jerome Matthews and Catherine Matthews. He is survived by: his daughters, Anne Flowers (Andrew) of Elizabeth City, NC, Lynn Cobb (Don) of Orlando, FL and Aimee Jo Gober (Matthew) of Treasure Island, FL. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
