Kenneth W. ''Ken" Sullivan, 84, of Bradenton, FL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 4, 2018. His parents preceded him in death. He was born on July 2, 1933 in Princeton, IL, to Wood and Maggie Sullivan of Bradford, IL. He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen, his three sons, Kenwood, Andy and Karl David Sullivan and his four grandchildren. In February 1952 he served in the US Navy during the Korean War. In October 1957 he was an Illinois State Trooper and retired after 21½ years. In February of 1979 he worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. in their Security Division. In 1984 he became an Inspector in the Illinois Dept of Public Health, retiring to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 1991. In 2005 a move was made to Bradenton, FL. In 2014 they moved to Westminster Shores, a retirement community in Bradenton. Ken was a 32ndDegree Mason. He was a 64 year member of the American Legion and also a member of the Florida Korean War Veterans Association #199 where he was Chaplain. He also belonged to the US Navy Destroyer Ships Organization called the Tin Can Sailors. He and Helen belonged to the Evangelical Covenant Church in Bradenton where Ken was Chairman of the Leadership Team for 12 years. A Memorial Service will be held 1:30 P.M. Monday, March 19, 2018 at Trailer Estates Evangelical Church. Interment with full Military Honors will be at Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
