He is survived by: his wife June Whitehead; his brother Dr. Richard E. Whitehead; his children, Kelly Goodwin (Bruce), Robert Whitehead (Cindy), Linda Gaunt (Jay) and Jennifer Kropp; his grandchildren, Christine Ashburn (Courtney), Lori Aleckson (Mike), Brian Goodwin, Kyle Reed (Holly), Michael Whitehead, Megan Whitehead, Dana Hammonds (Will), Nicole Gaunt and Mike Meyer; and his great grandchildren, Mackenzie Ashburn, Hadley Ashburn, Abby Goodwin, Harley Goodwin, Payton Gibney, Logan Reed and Taylor Reed.
The military honors will be held on Friday, August 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sarasota National Cemetery (9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241).
