She was loved and cherished by many people including: her father Charles Rowan; her grandmother Watterson Rowan; her sons, Arthur Peterson and David Peterson (Margaret); her daughter-in-law Stephanie Peterson; her grandchildren, Laurie O'Hara, Sean O'Hara, Brian Peterson, Meaghan Swaysland, Daniel Peterson, Katie Peterson, Shannon Cipriani, Jaime Bedell, Courtney Reyes, Jennifer Peterson, Michael Peterson and Samantha Peterson; her great grandchildren, Josephyna Lepeak, Cayden Cipriani, Damon Kulikowski, Kaydence O'Hara, Teagan O'Hara, Olivia Swaysland, Ellie Swaysland, Nolan Reyes, Ashton Sanchez, Douglas Peterson and Stella Peterson; her husband Arthur Peterson; her son Charles Peterson; her siblings, Jean Blake, Barbara Tegge, Patricia McCreedy and Charles Rowan; and her son-in-law Kevin O'Hara. She was also cherished by eight children and enjoyed twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

The family suggests donations in her memory be made to: Hope Hospice, AHRC-Nassau County, New York or National Diabetes Association.
