He was predeceased by: his wife Brenda Qualls; his parents, J. W. Qualls and Minerva Pendergrass; and his siblings, Sharon Ashman, Mack Qualls and Rocky Qualls.

He is survived by: his children, Janet Dailey, Lori Crum (Johnny), Melissa Spiers (Jerry), Roy Crum (Emily) and April Thomas (Melvin); and his sister Janice Bynum (Bill). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
