He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Thompson and Gladys Thompson of Pike County, KY.; his wife Edna Mae Hall Thompson; his daughter Sharon Thompson; his grandson Jason Able; his sisters, Evelyn and Ruth; and his siblings-in-law, Ida, Dorothy, Faye, Ginger, Billy, Bobby and Jerry.
He is survived by: his children, Wayne Thompson, Rick Thompson and Debbie McLendon (Clay); and his siblings-in-law, Betty Stanley and Curtis Hall.
