He was predeceased by : his parents, Knox Shy and Vergie Mae Shy; and his siblings, Pearl Jones, Bobbie Shy, Annie Terry and Henry Smith.
He is survived by : his son Eddie B. Shy; his daughter-in-law Sharon F. Shy of Crestview, Florida; his grandchildren, Kenya of Crestview, Florida, Jazmin Shy of Crestview, Florida, Keelan, Kameron and Kason Shy; his siblings, Annie Vera Smith of St. Paul Minnesota, Vergie Davis (Chester) of Quincy, Florida, Mary Johns of Stockbridge, Georgia, Mary Copeland (John), Virginia Glover (James), Mildred Shy of Brundidge Alabama, Catherine Shy of Dallas, Georgia, Geraldine Franklin of White Plains, Teresa Nanina Shy of Cleveland, Ohio, Rev. Henry Shy of Killeen, Texas and David Shy of Stockbridge, Georgia; and his friend Due. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
