She was predeceased by: her parents, Hamp Lawson and Mamie Lawson; her daughter Evelyn Stewart; and her siblings, Vera Asbel and Horace.
She is survived by: her husband Calvin York; her children, Jeanette Johnson (Ed Garrett), Mike Stewart (Laresa), Billie Jo Lyons and Chad Stewart (Julie); her stepchildren, Angela York, Pamela Bond (Terry) and Calvin York Jr.; and her sisters, Vara Moore and Rozell Josey. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
