He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Murphy and Ethel Murphy; his wife Joyce Dukes Murphy; his brother Eugene Murphy; and his brother-in-law Owen Duke.
He is survived by: his siblings, Betty Duke, Larry Murphy (Sharon) and Joey Murphy (Jeannie); his sister-in-law Eddie Merle Murphy; and his children, Shirley Duff (Mike), Chester Murphy (Terri), Brenda Johnson (Shannon) and Doug Murphy (Ruth). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
