He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred James and Nellie Brooks Stone; his wife Dixie Stone; his son William Stone, Jr.; his stepson Harry Allen, Sr.; and his siblings, J. D., Rex and Joanne Thompson.

He is survived by: his daughter Lynda Robinson (Dennis); his daughter-in-law Debbie; and his sister Betty Brooks (Frank). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
