He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Harkins and David Harkins; and his siblings, Mary, Laura, Rose and Bill.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Harkins III (Jamie), Larry Harkins, Terri Sparks and Diane Thornton (Paul). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
