With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melvin Wright Carter of Fleming Island, Florida, who passed away on June 15, 2020 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Norma Jean Carter; his pet Tebow; and his brother-in-law Wally Martin. He is survived by: his father Winton Carter; his daughter Chrissie Hamilton (Jeffrey); his sister Karen Martin; his granddaughters, Alexandria Rood (Forrest) and Skylar Hamilton; his niece Jennifer Avinger; and his great-nephews, Anthony Avinger, Jr. and Carter Leathers. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
