He is survived by: his spouse Mario Mejia Roberts; his children, Heather Joi Elizabeth Roberts, Kathleen Taylor Roberts and Daniel McDonald Roberts, III (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Ava McKenzie Hunt and Gerika Joi Grace Gill; his sisters, Frances Roberts Cope (Jacob Martin) and Julia Roberts Gibson (Ned); and his mother-in-law Margarita Soto Castillo.

A reception will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home (7001 NW 4th St, Plantation, FL 33317). A burial will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 1:45 PM and from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the South Florida National Cemetery (6501 FL-7, Lake Worth, FL 33449).

In honor of Dan's deep commitment to learning and higher education, Mario, Dan's husband, kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, you consider making a contribution to the college fund established for his beloved grandchildren, Ava and Gerika Joi ("GJ") — a gesture that reflects Dan's lifelong dedication to nurturing the next generation, and a way to pay it forward in tribute to all he did for others through his work and his life as a passionate educator and inspiring leader.
