He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Sammis and Eleanor Sammis; and his sisters, Ethel Middleton (Sammis) and Carol Hoffman (Sammis). He is survived by: his wife Brenda; his sons, Ed Sammis, John Sammis (Sue) and Scott Sammis (Jenny); his granddaughters, Caitlin, Kyra, Haley, Madelyn, Maura and Harriet; and his stepgrandson Nic. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hodges-Kiser Funeral Home (9231 Cypress Lake Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33919). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations to be made in Charlie's memory to the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches (youthranches.org).
